Job Description

The Art Department at Edinboro University seeks a full-time tenure-track, Cinema-Film and Video Production, Assistant Professor, beginning August 2018.


All levels of Film and Video Production: Film & Video I, Film & Video II, Film & Video III, Film & Video IV and administer the Film and Video Production program. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining equipment, supervising work-study students, researching new equipment, and keeping current with film and video production equipment, software, and technology. In addition to the specific responsibilities, faculty members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Required Qualifications

MFA in Cinema or an associated cinema field or equivalent degree.The film and video production area currently uses Macintosh computers with Final Cut Pro and the Adobe Master Collection. Candidate must be demonstrably proficient in this software.

Preferred Qualifications

Three years of university-level teaching and significant professional production experience are desirable.

Specific Duties

In addition to the specific responsibilities, faculty members are expected to maintain an ongoing record of creative work, scholarship, professional activities, and perform duties as assigned in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.

This position may be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education.

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a credential verification and all Act 153 criminal background investigations to include: a report of criminal history information obtained from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and the Federal fingerprint-based criminal history report and credential verification. Finalists will be required to complete an interview and/or demonstration. Fluency in English language for final candidates will be assessed. All candidates must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. upon appointment.
