Job Description

The School of Business at Edinboro University seeks a full-time tenure-track, Management Information Systems and Management or Marketing, open rank faculty member, beginning August 2018.

The Department of Business and Economics in the School of Business offers major degrees in economics and business as well as economics and business minors. Economics is an important theoretical component of the business programs. The School also has an MBA program under consideration by the Board of Governors which will be housed in the Department of Graduate Business Studies. The Business programs are accredited by ACBSP. The school’s mission statement focuses on a commitment to quality teaching, whether that teaching is in a traditional classroom, online or at a regional campus. The school offers the possibility of a reduced teaching load and summer support for research. The University is a member of the SAP University Alliance and SAP is frequently utilized in the current Information Resource Management Course. Depending on the faculty members’ qualifications, this faculty member may be provided the opportunity to teach in an MBA program, once approved.


Teach information resource management and other management or marketing courses based on the needs of the department and the qualifications of the candidate. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach course offerings in the area of management information systems including the integration of enterprise resource planning software into coursework. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop and teach course offerings in the area of management or marketing. The ability to teach business analytics would be a plus.

This position may be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. or DBA in business-related field. Graduate studies with a concentration in MIS and management, marketing or a related field with a strong MIS background are desired. Candidates who are academically qualified according to departmental standards are strongly preferred. Teaching or equivalent professional work experience expected. Candidate should submit teaching evaluations if available.

Preferred Qualifications

Evidence of refereed publications, professional work experience, and aspirations to take a leadership role in the Department are a plus.
