Position Summary Information

Job Description

Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Computer Science in the Mathematics and Computer Science department beginning August 2018.

Candidates must be committed to quality teaching at all levels, including service courses. A commitment to scholarly activity is expected, with preference given to those who demonstrate the ability to include undergraduates in this endeavor.

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science currently offers five computer science tracks: theoretical, application, network administration, web development, and game and virtual word development. The theoretical track is ABET accredited and seeks a candidate committed to continuing and expanding this accreditation.


Major courses and general education courses

Required Qualifications

Masters in Computer Science or related field required. Three years teaching or relevant industrial experience as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field preferred. A Ph.D. is required for tenure.

Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a credential verification and all Act 153 criminal background investigations to include: a report of criminal history information obtained from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and the Federal fingerprint-based criminal history report and credential verification.

Finalists will be required to complete an interview and demonstration of teaching ability.

Fluency in English language for final candidates will be assessed. All candidates must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. upon appointment.
