Position Summary Information

Job Description

Full-Time, Tenure-Track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Mental Health & Medical Surgical Nursing in the Nursing Department beginning August 2018.

Responsibilities

Candidate will be required to teach theory and clinical teaching in the areas of mental health nursing as well as medical-surgical nursing in the undergraduate baccalaureate nursing program. Courses may be face to face or online. If the candidate holds nurse practitioner licensure, assignments may also include online courses as well as clinical supervision for family nurse practitioner students.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, with a doctoral degree required for tenure. Candidate must have clinical experience in mental health nursing as well as medical-surgical nursing.

Pennsylvania RN Licensure required.
CPR for health care providers.
Laboratory testing required by clinical agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree.
Pennsylvania family nurse practitioner (CRNP) licensure and certification.
Clinical experience as a family nurse practitioner.

Specific Duties

This position may be assigned to perform work at off-campus sites and/or provide instruction through distance education.
