Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a credential verification and all Act 153 criminal background investigations to include: a report of criminal history information obtained from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and the Federal fingerprint-based criminal history report and credential verification. Finalists will be required to complete an interview and/or demonstration. Fluency in English language for final candidates will be assessed. All candidates must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. upon appointment. Application review will begin on December 1, 2017, and continue until the position is filled.

Position Summary Information

Job Description

Full-Time, Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology in the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders beginning August 2018.

The Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders offers two established and successful degree programs: the BS in Speech and Hearing Sciences (175 students) and the CAA-accredited MA in Speech-Language Pathology programs (48 students). The Department is housed in the Dr. Jeremy Brown Human Services Building, which opened in 2011.

Responsibilities
Required Qualifications

Earned doctorate in speech-language pathology or related field (ABD considered at Instructor rank), CCC-SLP, and eligible for PA license, evidence of teaching effectiveness, content knowledge in at least four of the following areas: speech and language development, child language disorders, phonological disorders, articulation disorders; clinical supervision/education, survey of communication disorders, communication disorders in culturally and linguistically diverse populations, counseling.

Specific Duties

Effectively teach and advise graduate and undergraduate students, perform departmental, university, and professional service, and engage in scholarly activities. Faculty members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
